*Name: Kyran
Nickname(s): Kei
*Sex: Male
*Age: Fifteen
*Appearance: Kyran is around 5'11'' and is fairly thin for his age and height. His hair is dark brown, appearing black indoors, and is generally kind of scruffy. He has blue eyes with a thin green ring around the pupil.
*Sexuality: Bi
*Status: Single
*Likes: ice-cream, donuts, all manners of sweets and chocolates.
*Dislikes: meat, being poor, his step-father
*Fears: not being able to pay for everything, especially his tuition and his brother, being in debt to others, needles
*Ambitions: being able to stand on his own two feet, getting his brother into the same good school when he is old enough, maybe finding love.
*Personality: Kyran can be stubborn to a fault but if it weren't for his stubbornness he would never have gotten to where he was in life. He cares deeply for his younger half-brother and will do anything for him, often sacrificing his studies. He believed that if he just managed a pass he would be fine, so long as he could make enough money to pay for the both of them, even though he could easily achieve terrific marks if he tried. He has somewhat of a low regard for rules, them not having helped him much in the past and this can often get him into trouble.
*Strengths: He is good at visual arts, english and history.
*Weaknesses: He is somewhat lacking in the math, science and physical education areas but he manages enough to pass.
*Relatives: Biological father is dead, step-father is alive but in his home town and he doesn't have a good relationship with the man, mother is in his home town and dying of a brain tumor, his eight year old brother lives with him.
*Past: Kyran comes from a broken family. His biological father was killed in a drug-related crime when he was five and his mother remarried when he was seven. At first the family was good and they had another son. Soon, however, his step-father's abusive and alcoholic ways became known. Even through this and doing his best to protect his mother and little brother he still managed to do well at school and when it came time apply for high schools he stumbled upon Reitaku High School. Doubting that he would ever get in he decided to apply just for the hell of it. His mother was diagnosed with a brain tumor not long after he sent his applications out. She was failing fast at the time when Kyran went to get the mail and found a letter for him that contained an invitation to Reitaku High School. He could barely believe it and it took three days of him privately reading and re-reading the letter before he told his family. His step-father, naturally, didn't care. His mother, however, in one of her increasingly rarer sane moments, beseeched him to go, and to take his brother with him and look after him. Kyran had been seriously considering turning the offer down instead staying home to look after his brother and mother but since his mum had specifically requested it, he decided to go for it.
Money was a big problem for Kyran. Reitaku was an expensive private boarding school and there was no way he would be able to afford the uniform, let alone the school fees. He had a part time job where he lived but the school was in the capital which meant he would have to move. His mum handed over her savings to him to get him started, for bond and travel to the capital. He was lucky to find a cheap two room apartment on the outer suburbs of the city. It was dirty, run-down and, quite frankly, horrible but it was also cheap, enough that he could afford to pay the rent.
He and his younger brother moved there as soon as he could, even though it was hard leaving his mother like she was; he had to get a job and start earning and saving enough money for the uniform and school books, and then, of course the tuition fees. The letter he had received had advised living in the school dormitories but there was no way on earth he would ever be able to afford that. If he were to eat as well as he may at school it may prove much the same but he could always adjust what he and his brother ate to be able to afford school for the both of them. He also decided to follow the military track of subject selection as that would get him a place in the high paying military. It hardly played to his strengths as he was better in the classroom and was a bit of a passifist but his brother was more important than himself at that moment.
Moving to the city he found a job at Misao's Diner as a waiter. The pay was fairly good and since he had arrived around a month before school was due to start he worked all day every day in order to save up the money he needed. He enrolled his brother in a public school similar to the one they were both enrolled at previously; a good reputation and only mildly expensive. Now school was nearly upon him and he would lose five days of the week of work to school. He needed to find some other job that he could do during school hours to help pay for everything.
