Elizabeths scowl furrowed deeper. If Jayden noticed something, there was definitely something amiss. She reached out a hand to Angeline and drew her horse nearer. "Let's dismount, Angeline." Elizabeth slid gracefully off of her horse and helped Angeline do the same, all while moving the blade she kept strapped to her wrist closer to her hand, loosening the strap. She could defend herself and Angeline if need be, but she hoped she was just on edge from the travel.
"We should get some pastries. We will be right back." She led Angeline over to the pastry shop, thinking that there were very few people in the building, and they would be able to look out on the whole street from the shops window.

((did you actually have an idea of what could be wrong? I dont... lol. I was just following your lead))
Jayden nodded when Elizabeth went to get some pastries. He too dismounted figuring that since he wasn't carrying a long weapon any advantage he would have to remain mounted would be lost. He loosened the long dirk at his hip from its sheath and kept watch. He knew that Elizabeth could look after herself, but he still kept an ear out to her incase the trouble he felt was just around the corner occured inside the store. Though he had his back to the door so he was covering all areas.

Suddenly out of seemingly no where, a cloaked figure barrled around the corner and into the open square, the figures horse as black as night, matching the riders robes.
The figure rode hard towards Jayden, then barely missed running him over, but grabbed Jayden's shirt, toppling him to the ground. The cloaked figure then turned his horse around when he reached the end of the square and said, in a language that Elizabeth didn't understand, his voice gruff, "Ne aramak biliyorum! Sizin macera veya belirli ölümle yüz Býrak!"
He then rode off, dissapearing as quickly as he had appeared. Leaving Angeline in the shop, Elizabeth rushed out to the street and to Jayden, throwing herself down to the ground near him.
"Jayden! Are you alright?" Her voice was a hair away from complete dispair.

Jayden's head flicked towards the sound of someone riding quickly towards them. His eyes narrowed suspiciously, but then he was suspicious of everyone now. A rider wasn't so unusual but this one seemed to be riding directly to him. He was just about to leap out of the way when his shirt was grabbed and he was tossed roughly away. Jayden's stiff leg twisted and gave out under him and he landed rather heavily, a grunt of pain coming from his mouth.
He stared after the rider as he rode off, shouting at him in the unknown language. Jayden frowned. His instincts told him it was a warning, to stop, but how could this rider even know what they were doing? Alright so he had asked questions about a specific monk but unless they also knew who this monk really was then they would have no reason to question it.
He looked up to Elizabeth and managed a tight smile for her sake. "Fine," he said. Bringing his good leg under him, he stood and slowly put his weight more even. It still hurt and would for a little bit, part of the problem of breaking the tibea and not having it heal properly, but it would ease in time.
"I don't understand what he said but... I have a feeling we will run into him again," he said. "Have you finished shopping? The sooner we are away from here the better."

Elizabeth nodded, worry still etched into her face. "Yes. Let's go." She ushered Angeline back up onto her horse, and watched nervously as Jayden attempting the same. People started to gather around the square, watching the strangers with increased interest, their eyes wide. It was probably safe to assume that they had never seen a display like that happen in their little town before.
This whole scene gravely worried Elizabeth. If someone knew what they were doing, and got to the poor lad first; well, she didn't want to think about the horrendous outcomes that could occur. She swung up onto her horse with graceful practice, although the speed at which she did it was less lady-like. Once she saw that all three of their party were mounted, she nudged her horse into a trot.
"How long until the next town, Jayden?" If they were going to have to sleep in the open somewhere, she wanted to know ahead of time.

Jayden mounted up and followed Elizabeth out of the town. "In the evening most likely," he said. "I want to avoid most towns. The least amount of people who see us the less someone can track our progress and direction." And the more likely that when they run into that rider again, I won't be confined by the expectations of society, Jayden thought to himself.
He rubbed his sore leg as they rode, trying to work some of the stiffness out of it. He was bleeding again too he realized. He sighed in annoyance. His body may be tougher than the average persons because of his time in prison and keeping fit living up to the Cat's role, but it also had wear and tear because of them.
He rode a little way in silence before stopping around midday just off the road. There was a small bubbling creek here he had stopped at many a time before to water the horses and himself. "Let's have lunch here," he said, dismounting. The world spun a little before his eyes at the sudden movement and he gripped on to his saddle until it had passed. He must have lost more blood than he thought. "And I'll need you to dress this wound for me," he added somewhat reluctantly, as though hating to admit such a weakness. He glanced to Angeline, trying to come up with some sort of excuse that would send her away. He didn't like others seeing his scars, was very self concious and shy about it especially since for the most part they cant seem to stop staring. It was bad enough sometimes that he couldnt hide the scars on his face and hands all the time, he didn't need stares or sympathy seeing the worse ones on the rest of his body.

Elizabeth dismounted and brought out the pastries Angeline and herself had bought from the shop before Jayden was toppled over by the strange rider. She planted a kiss on Jaydens cheek, hoping it would cheer him. She saw him rubbing his leg and knew that it must be acting up again, and no doubt he was in pain, especially when he was thrown to the ground.
She cast a 'can't you keep yourself unwounded?' glance at Jayden before she set the pastries down on the ground. "Angeline, would you do me a favor?" Angeline was only too happy to oblige. She half fell, half slipped off her horse and nearly toppled over. It was painfully obvious that she had not ridden much before now.
"Yes?"
"Could you fill our canteens and gather some berries for the journey? It's raspberry season now, and I just couldn't go through this countryside without having any!" She smiled, showing her pearly white teeth. "We won't start without you." She winked and watched as the young girl went skipping off into the bushes with a cloth make-shift basket and their canteens.
When she couldn't see Angeline anymore, Elizabeth went back to the saddle bags and grabbed the salve and extra wrappings. She sat down next to Jayden and looked at him expectantly.

Jayden rolled his eyes to Elizabeth's look; it wasn't his fault he kept getting injured! Well, alright so this wound on his chest was his fault, but it was for good intentions!
"Thank you," he said softly when Elizabeth sent Angeline away. He was glad she knew him well enough to know how uncomfortable he was of his scars. It had taken him long enough to feel comfortable revealing them around Elizabeth let alone anyone else.
Sitting down he undid the clasp of his cloak and let it drop to the ground before pulling his shirt off over his head. There was a light bandage over the wound but it was soaked through with blood and had come loose and slipped down to his stomach making most of his torso rather blood-streaked. The wound itself was oozing blood still, which explained his light-headedness earlier, but it was nothing that proper care and actually looking after it wouldn't fix in time.

Elizabeth didn't make a sound as she fixed Jayden's wound. She knew that it was for the greater good, but she still didn't like seeing him hurt. It's not that she didn't mind helping him and looking after him, she loved that, not to mention getting to see him half naked, but it's just that she felt he shouldn't have to endure any more pain. He had been through enough in prison to last several lifetimes.
She nodded when he thanked her, intent on her work. Her face betrayed nothing of her inner thoughts, but she felt that didn't matter. Somehow Jayden always knew what she was thinking, no matter how well she controlled her face. It was this unspoken language they had that was the strongest bond between them, it was what allowed Jayden to love her again, and not to fear her.
When she finished, she lightly slapped his arm before he put his shirt on, then cuddled her nose into his neck. "Stop getting yourself hurt." She teased, half serious, and half mocking.

"Don't worry," he murmered softly as his hand rose up to stroke her hair softly. "If nothing else prison built up my pain tollerance. I can feel the pain but I can distance myself from it as well. And this isn't so serious," he said, attempting to reassure her.
"I don't try to," he said, a hint of irony in his voice as he responded to her teasing. Moving away slightly he pulled his shirt back on, ignoring the fact it was still bloody before pulling Elizabeth towards him once more. This way, since Angeline had aparently seen them together, she wouldn't see anything new like his scars.
He opened his mouth to say something but then closed it, thinking better of himself. He had been about to say that he wished it was just her and him there, so they could lay in the grass and relax some under the midday sun, like they did in their cabin, but that would likely upset her since she liked Angeline so. But he guessed that the way his hand gently stroked Elizabeth's cheek affectionately said what words could not.

Elizabeth snuggled deeper into Jayden, wanting to be completly in his lap, but knowing to avoid the wound that she had just bandaged. She smiled as he stroked her cheek, knowing exactly what he was thinking. She leaned up and kissed him on the base of his neck, her favorite part of him for some reason. "I know." Was all she said as she snuggled back into him.
After beng like that for a moment, she pulled away, and lifting his shirt, checked the bandage to make sure it wasn't bleeding still. "It's looking better. But please, no more getting yourself toppled over by horses." She teased, and slipped her hand farther up his sides to tickle that one rib he could not resist. It was only light playing, since she didn't want to reopen the wound.
As they were playing, Angeline came back with a bag full of berries and their canteens full to the brim with fresh cool water. "Now why'd you go and start the fun without me?" She asked, feigning hurt like a young child.

Jayden simply sighed in response to Elizabeth's words of being toppled by horses. He jerked slightly in reaction to her tickling and his own hands went to her sides exactly to her most ticklish areas. He glanced up, hearing Angeline coming back before seeing her and gave Elizabeth one last tickle before pulling away lest the girl see anything he didn't want her to see.
He scowled at her question, glaring at her as he took the berries and water and laid it out with the pasties for their lunch. "Hurry up and eat," he snapped. "We've got a long way to go and not a lot of time to get there." He really didn't like kids. Thank goodness Elizabeth hadn't fallen pregnant.

Angeline's bright face lost all sparkle at being yelled at. She sat very close to Elizabeth, her shoulder touching hers as she took a pastry and a couple of berries, popping them into her mouth.
Elizabeth gave Jayden a mournful glance, then set her downcast eyes on the food. Suddenly she wasn't so hungry. She took a few berries and place them carefully and slowly into her mouth, letting the rich juice splash over her tongue. She chewed the wonderful red berry slowly, afraid that if she swallowed it, she would have to talk. She knew that he didn't adore children like she did, and was ok with that, hoping that it might change one day and they could have their own children. Especially after they were done with their "noble" lives. She had been thinking for some weeks now that she was with child, since she hadn't had her last two womanly bleeds, but she tried to push that out of her mind. Her bleeds were far from normal or regular, and she had missed them before, normally when she's under great stress... She shrugged mentally, and popped another berry into her mouth.
