((Em, don't know if you got my PM yet, but both Kitsula and I will be playing this charrie...)) Mainly me.
Name: Kitsula Adula Shiningami
Nickname or Title: Ki (But only by ‘chosen’ friends)
Gender: Female
Age: -- Immortal. But this is her third lifetime, and she is roughly 324 years into it, but like other immortals, she doesn’t age pass a certain year, so she appears to be 17 or so.
(Side note: Said to live for 500 or 1461 years. But at the end of its life-cycle the phoenix builds itself a nest of cinnamon twigs that it then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix arises. But if they are killed by a shot to the heart, they just basically explode into flames and truly die.)
Race: – Phoenix Selkie. It’s a mix between a Human and an Animal, to put it simply.
Class: – I guess she could be put into the class of a wanderer…or traveler…
Side: – Chaotic Good. She is pure in heart, but when she is overly angered, she has chaotic tendencies.
Weakness: – With all fire things, she has a great fear of water in mass…like a lake or ocean, but isn’t afraid of say, a shower or glass of water. One of her weaknesses is that she can be overly trusting of people, which leaves her mind and powers open and vunerable.
Powers: –
Healing Tears – The tears from a Phoenix are said to have healing abilities, and for Kitsula, it’s true. But only when she truly focuses on it. When she is crying like a human does, no healing powers, but when she cries almost forcing out the tears, healing abilities ^^ Most Phoenix’s are able to regenerate themselves instantly, but since she is part human, her healing is twice as fast as normal humans, but still not as instant as the actual Bird.
Telepathy and Telekinesis – Both are very self explanatory, but to indulge you more, Kitsula has an extreme power here. She has very strong telepathic abilities, and even stronger telekinetic abilities. She is able to lift anything under the weight of 20 tons (roughly 20.5 elephants), she can use her telekinesis to levitate objects, other people, or herself and project a telekinetic shield capable of withstanding missile blasts. Kitsula’s telepathy allows her to communicate with others telepathically, read the thoughts of others, influence decisions, control minds, manipulate memories, cast her mind into the astral plane, or fire stunning "mental bolts" capable of knocking out or turning someone brain-dead.
Fire Bombs – When Kitsula taps into her Phoenix powers, she is engulfed in fire in the shape of, you guessed it, a Phoenix. When in this state, she is able to cast large amounts of fire bombs at an opponent.
((SIDE NOTE: THESE FOLLOWING POWERS ARE WHEN SHE IS IN NO CONTROL OF HERSELF. (Think Dark Phoenix off of X-Men)))
When in this state, her telekinesis is of an unparalleled level, capable of latching onto objects in orbit and manipulating hundreds of components in mid-air in complex patterns. When this occurs, her mere thoughts can become reality. She has only experienced this side to her a few times throughout her lifetimes.
She can also release devastating force blasts in this state, like shockwaves. When merged with this other side of her, her telepathic abilities get stronger and she is able to manifest a Phoenix out of fire, literally with her mind that can cause both physical and mental damage. Basically, this only occurs when she experiences something truly traumatic. Like watching a family member or close friend’s death.
Default Abilities: – The only thing that she was born knowing how to use were the Healing Tears, but when she was a baby, she cried all the time, whenever somebody else would even feel even a little bit of pain, and every tear she would cry was healing.
Abilities: – Kitsula learned at and early age in her first lifetime that she had this alternate personality, and at one point was trained (sort of) to keep most of it under control. She spent years mastering languages, races, cultures, her powers, and the like. Even though she is a master at her own magic, she was taught to use weapons, just in case her powers were ever taken from her.
Weapons: – A ¾ inch Cherry wood Staff with silver markings that look like Chinese calligraphy. *Side note, the language is one of her people, the Phoenix Selkies, and only they could interpret it.* At the top of her staff there is a bright Ruby, which, when put into sunlight, dances with life-like flames with a Phoenix inside. She also carries assorted daggers and knives in secret places within her clothes and boots.

Father, Montgomery Shiningami (Deceased)
Older Sister, Rini Shiningami (Unknown)
Little Brother, Rakui Shiningami (Unknown)

Picture: usera.imagecave.com/KawazoeEmi/PhoenixGirl.jpg
Personality: – What is your character like in battle: Her theory is, Beat it until it doesn’t move anymore.
In relationships: She never gets into relationships for fear of being hurt. But if/when she does, she gives her entire being to that person and loves them fully and unconditionally.
Over all characteristics of your character: She can be really rude, sarcastic, mean, and overall, a bitch. But, through that, she is really warm hearted, confidant, caring, lovable, and gives care and concern to others who need it. She is never one to turn her back on anybody in need, and would sacrifice herself if it meant that somebody else would profit from it. (I.E. Give her life to save someone else’s, or to save someone another person loved dearly.)
Background: –(1,111 words!!!! Written by Shini) Her mother and father met through an arranged marriage. They families had grown up together, and had known each other for so long, they wanted to continue the ‘family friendship legacy’ with their children. So, both families decided, that their son and the other families daughter would get married. But, at the first meeting of the children, He, Montgomery, threw sand and rocks at Lida and pushed her into the ocean. Now, being a Phoenix Selkie (both of them) you know how awful that is. So, they both refused to play with each other, under the pretence of “He’s an icky booger face!”
Of course, since their families knew they would wed anyway, they decided that they would just let their children dislike each other for now, because they could not change their plans or the ones Fate had for them.
So, in their teenage years, they both changed significantly. Lida growing into goddess like beauty, and Montgomery into handsomeness and gentlemanly manners. Unknowing to them, their parents set them both off to the same school, to chance what would happen. Since they had not seen anything of each other for years and years, both sets of parents thought it impossible for them to recognize each other. And they were right.
In their second quarter of the 4th year into High school, they saw each other walking in the snow in the field near the school. Of course they didn’t know who they were, but imagine a love at first sight moment for them…and of course, Lida briskly walked off, not to encourage such behavior, especially at school. Although when she did arrive at home, she spilled the gossip of that day with her mother, who winked and told Montgomery’s mother, who in turn, asked him, then reported back to Lida’s mother. (Don’t you hate it when parents talk?)
So throughout the rest of their final year, they saw more and more of each other, not on purpose either, but chance meetings in the Lunch room, the hallways, even walking home. For they only lived a block or two away from each other.
When they realized who exactly the other one was, old memories were brought back, and Lida thought that he could never have outgrown such behavior as a child, and Montgomery had no idea how a sniveling little girl could turn into such a beautiful lady. While their parents continued to try and convince him to court her, and for her to accept that he has changed and grown into a very nice young man…they starting exchanging smiles, or nods, or even “Hello’s” between another.
Skipping ahead to the Spring, Montgomery’s mother had convinced him to court her, and in doing that, she told him that they were to be married in 3 years time anyway, so he might as well do the proper thing and get to know her.
Likewise, Lida’s mother told her the same story, but with slightly less brash words. So, they decided to get to know each other, but if they didn’t like one another, that the wedding arrangements were off and they never had to see or even speak to each other again.
Well, since we all know where this is going…(otherwise I wouldn’t have a character!), I will skip ahead to where Kitsula is born…
She was born at the hands of a midwife, deep in the Mountains. Her older sister was a mean little brat to her, yet her little brother was wonderful. (Irony) Her older sister is 4 years older than Kitsula, and Kitsula is 3 years older than Rakui. They lived happily enough in a small cottage amongst the forest, learning their powers, how to fly, about other races and cultures…about everything. Kitsula desperately wanted to learn, and she devoted every moment she could to writing and learning. Rini devoted herself to dancing and singing, and Rakui was happy enough busying himself with building things. When Kitsula was about to enter her second lifetime, she was terrified. Only Lida and Rini could help calm her nerves for only a little while. When the day finally came, she wasn’t nervous at all, but very very calm with the happenings. She was sure that she would come back. When she felt herself grow weaker and hotter, she alerted Lida and Rini, and they watched to make sure everything went accordingly. And of course, it did. She came back, cute as a button and still retaining her previous life memories.
So then began her training. Her father immediately starting her training in every known Martial Art Form; including how to draw upon her inner energy to make an attack, even without the use of her magic.
But things went wrong for their entire family went they were attacked. It seemed like an entire army invaded their house while Lida and Rini were cooking diner, Montgomery and Rakui training, and Kitsula reading. It happened in a matter of moments. Ki saw her mother cut down before she could even let go of the pot handle, and she lost track of both Rini and Rakui when she was grabbed from behind. She fought with all of her knowledge of martial arts, killing close to 20 of the men. Then, when she saw her father brutally murdered right in front of her, the powers that were within her, hidden until that moment, were unleashed. All that anger rose up inside of her, creating fire around her. Her eyes glowed with fiery intensity, and she rose up, wings coming from her back. She picked up the man who had slain her father and said “You are about to die. I hope you burn in hell.” Then she stabbed him in the neck with her fingernail, which had grown 6 inches and sharp as a razor, making her hands like claws. She dropped him, then with all eyes of the rest of the men on her, she went on a rampage, killing all those that stood, and giving no mercy, even for the ones who begged it. After all was said and done, she fell to her knees, anger receding, and herself returning to normal. She had no idea what had happened to her brother and sister, but she didn’t want to stay here anymore. She had to get away.
And so she did. She ran, er, flew, away, and has never come back to that house. She had assumed that she was the only one left of her family, and never bothered to look for her brother or her sister. And so she stayed, wandering the world, looking for something, but she did not know what.
Sample RP: – ((Am I allowed to use this sample as a thread starter? Words=425))
Sitting alone in a tall oak tree, the Phoenix Selkie gazed up into the deep blue sky that seemed to stretch for forever, dotted with millions of little stars that glowed with such magnifiance, they lit up the ground beneath, despite there being no moon to help illuminate the world below.
Her ten tails fluttered on their own as they sat drapped over the tree branch she was sitting on. They were bright red, with little shimmers of gold, and her wings, which were presently hidden, were the same when she took her true Selkie form. Her hair was a wonderful copper color, with highlights as red as her feathers. As she stared up into the nothingness above her, a single tear dropped from her golden eyes. She brushed it away with a small flutter of one of her many tails.
'Oh mother...why did you have to do everything you did?' She thought unhappily as she remembered her mother and other memories. She should not be sitting in this tree, she should be sitting in a cage somewhere, being poked and prodded with sticks and jabbed with hurtful words. She was still human, if only partly.
Memory after memory flooded her mind. It was the typical scary story start, with the dark, dreary, and stormy night when They came. Her mother and herself had been just sitting down to dinner when They came crashing through their 'home' (picture the stick house in the Three Little Pigs), and trying to take her, since she was the youngest and could be sold for more, her mother leaped infront of her only daughter, and tried to fight them off while they threw chains and ropes at the pair. Both fought Them, killing many, but it was the typical ending, one of Them shot a tranqulizer bullet at her, and the mother flew in front and took the blow, and was then captured. It was a horrible scene, and trying to drag her mother away, she was nearly caught, but she flew away as they tried shooting more at her...and now she was in this tree.
It was then she realized that humans and Selkies could not, by any means, live in peace. Anger flared withen her, and despite Phoenix's general cool temper, her rage welled up inside of her for the injustice. Without really realizing it, small balls of fire began to grow in and around her hands. When she opened her eyes and stopped the tears which were now streaming down her face, she cooled off immedietly.
